    IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor
The IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor is designed to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio when the air filter becomes restricted or partially clogged and maintains the engine’s correct RPM. IntelliCarb™ uses air from the clean side of the air filter to control the diaphragm and flow of fuel. As the air filter becomes dirty and less air is available for the carburetor, the IntelliCarb™ system adjusts the fuel flow to compensate for the decrease in air flow. This is in contrast to typical carburetors that utilize this air from the “dirty” side of the air box.

MS 180 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 126.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Trimming and Light Work This saw is a step above the 170 ,and for a few dollars, gives you the extra power at the same weight to get the job done. Spend the extra bucks, it is worth it. Just light enough to reach out and trim off a small branch, but has the power to take down a tree with a four to six inch diameter with no hesitation. I've been using it out of a bucket with one hand and find it comfortable and the torque light enough that it does not compromise on safety, it has never given me a kick-back or pull that felt unmanageable. I've been using Stihl products for the past 15 years and will continue. Before I would buy other brands and replace the every year. I've had most of my Stihl equipment for over 10 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of power for a small saw I have used Stihl chain saws for many years now, it is 1 of 2 brands that I will own. Over the years I have never had one that was not dependable. I got the MS 180 as a replacement for my 017 (not sure how old it is as I pick it up 12 years ago used). The MS 180 has more power then I expected with it being a smaller saw, starts right up with a pull or 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw Purchased last week, cut oak limbs & small logs up to about 8-10" diameter and saw performed superbly. Easy starting and fast cutting. Did everything I expected it to do. So far I'm very satisfied and would highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to start and light weight As I get older I needed some thing that was lighter weight but still have enough power to do what I need. I seen a tree service using Stihl saws and they recommend this one for my use. I have used it a lot and I am very pleased with it. It has worked better than I thought it would.
